My Story

My journey of the body began as a soccer player.

As a kid I struggled with school, but sports came easily. I was recruited to play at the Division-1 collegiate level for Long Beach State where playing a sport became a full time job. Being an athlete trained my body to follow a "whatever it takes" mentality so I could play at my peak consistently without any understanding of how to move optimally or any regard for how this might impact my body in the future. Eventually this way of thinking led to injury, surgery, and years of chronic pain.

This experience gave me tremendous insight into how important it is to listen to and take care of my body. It put me in touch with how challenging chronic pain can be and how incredible of a gift it is to feel good and move well. After I finished my B.S. in Kinesiology with a focus in Exercise Science, I immersed myself in multidisciplinary movement education, mindfulness practices such as yoga and meditation, and eventually became a certified massage therapist and health coach. Over the last 10 years of training clients and continually engaging myself in continuing education, I was not only able to recover from my own surgery and chronic pains, but have also helped hundreds of students and clients along their health and wellness journey. In addition to my certifications as a Massage Therapist, Personal Trainer, Pilates instructor, and yoga instructor I have studied with and am inspired by the work of Tom Myers and the Anatomy Trains, Dr. Andreo Spina and Functional Range Conditioning, and Professor Pavel Kolar of Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization - just to name a few. My love for all things movement related has brought me to Acro-yoga festivals, half-marathons, Crossfit, dance-offs in the living room, and many adventures out in nature. To me movement is a gift and one I hope to help others be able to enjoy to the fullest! My goal is to empower my clients with tools, training, and massage therapy techniques they can use to address pain, reduce the risk of injury, and find more balance and joy in their lives.
